Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. Candidates whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the above list of subjects may appear in a related subject.

  • For Mathematical Sciences, candidates having Master’s degree in Mathematics/ Pure Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Statistics are eligible.
  • Life Sciences, candidates having Master’s Degree in Biological Science/ Botany / Zoology / Animal Science / Microbiology / Molecular Biology / BioChemistry/ Biotechnology/ Physiology and other related subjects are eligible.
  • For Library Science, candidates having M.Lib./M.LIS. degree are eligible.
  • For Physical Education, candidates having M.P.Ed. degree are eligible.

West Bengal State Eligibility Test (WBSET) 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • There is no upper age limit to apply for WB SET Exam.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC are eligible for WB SET 2019. (For reserved category 50% marks)

WBSET 2019 Selection Process

  • The selection of the candidates will be on the basis of the performance in the written exam (both the papers of SET in aggregate).

How to apply for WB SET Recruitment 2019?

  1. Log on to the official portal i.e, https://www.wbcsconline.in/
  2. Find the related link “Apply for SET (Advt. No. 22/SET)” on the homepage.
  3. Click on the download link to download the official notification.
  4. Read the complete details provided in the notification for better understanding.
  5. If eligible, then click on “Apply now” link.
  6. Enter all the required details in the application form.
  7. Upload the scanned copies of the photograph & signature in the prescribed format.
  8. Re-check all the details once before submitting the form.

  • General: Rs. 1000/-
  • OBC: Rs. 500/-

Candidates have to pay the Examination Fee through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or Pay Offline Through E Challan at any branch of the United Bank of India in India (Bank charges Rs. 48 including GST).

WB SET Exam Pattern 2019

  1. Paper-I consists of 50 objective type compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks.
  2. The questions which will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching, research aptitude of the candidate.
  3. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
  4. Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks.
  5. The questions are asked based on the subject selected by the candidate.
  6. All the questions of Paper-II will be compulsory, covering entire syllabi of earlier Paper-II & Paper-III.
