Uttar Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test – UPTET

Introduction

Uttar Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test (UPTET) is an eligibility test conducted by the government of Uttar Pradesh for filling in the teaching posts across the state. The exam is mandatory that qualifies one for a primary or upper primary teaching position at school level across the State. Regular notifications pertaining to the vacancies and exam dates are released by the government on need basis. Other important TET notifications are Manipur TETJharkhand TETBihar TETHP Teacher Eligibility TestAP DSC TETOrissa TET, etc. In order to stay updated about the notifications, candidates are advised to visit ‘Drona’ on regular basis.

4 years Bachelor’s of Elementary Education B.El.Ed.
2. Elementary Level (class VI-VIII) Degree with B.T.C. from U.G.C. recognised university and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)
OR
Degree with minimum 50% marks form U.G.C. recognised University/ B.Ed Degree/ B.Ed Special Education from Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
OR
Intermediate with minimum 50% marks and 4 years B.A/B.S.C.Ed/B.A.Ed from any Institution recognised by N.C.T.E./U.G.C.
OR
Intermediate with minimum 50% and 4 years Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education B.El.Ed.OR
Degree with minimum 45% marks from U.G.C. recognised institution and B.Ed.

Relaxations

  • There is a 5% relaxation in qualifying marks for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH/ Freedom Fighter/ Ex-Serviceman categories. Thus, the the minimum qualifying percentage for such candidates is 55%  and maximum would be 85%.

Notifications

Application Procedure

All the candidates are required to visit the official portal of Uttar Pradesh Basic Shiksha Parishad www.upbasiceduboard.gov.in and follow the following steps:

  • Step-I
  • Registration link needs to be found out on the portal. Follow the instructions given there and register.
  • Step-II
  • Take the required print-outs of the application fee challan after successful registration. Deposit the same in the bank, come back and complete the process.
  • Step-III
  • Login once again. Upload the things that are asked and take the printout of the application for your future reference.

Selection Procedure

Uttar Pradesh TET Exam consists of two Papers viz. Paper-I & Paper-II. Both papers contain 150 Objective type questions respectively with 1 mark each. Total marks are 150 for each.

UPTET Paper-I

Candidates who aspire for teaching positions from Class I to V in UP Primary School.

UPTET Paper-II

Candidates who aspire for teaching positions from Class VI to VIII in UP Upper Primary School.Candidates who aspire for teaching positions right from primary level to upper primary level i.e. from Class I to VIII MUST pass both the papers.

Paper-II Upper Primary Level (Class VI-VIII)
This exam will have total 4 parts among which 3 parts are compulsory for all the candidates. Candidates who apply for Mathematics and Science subjects are required to write part 4 A and the other candidates are supposed to write part 4B.

Score Details

The minimum qualifying percentage is 60% and the maximum is 90%.

Validity of Card

  • The validity of the eligibility certificate is 5 years. However, one can also re-apply for the UPTET in those 5 years. You may apply for the exam again if you want to improve your score.
  • Candidates who are able to qualify the exam will be awarded the certificate.
  • From the date of declaration of the result, the time period will be calculated.
