The Uttar Pradesh Police department, like all other police departments across the globe, too works as a law enforcement agency in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Its responsibilities are to maintain Law and Order across the State. The department releases notifications pertaining to the requirements from time to time. Physical Standards
a) In a single attempt, male candidates MUST complete a run of 4.8 KMs in 27 minutes.
b) In a single attempt, Female candidates MUST complete a run of 2.4 KMs in 16 minutes.

Application Procedure

  • Visit www.prpb.gov.in/
  • Check the recruitment panel and go through all the notifications.
  • Application Form needs to be downloaded.
  • Fill the Application Form designed by UP Police and enclose all the important self attested credentials/testimonials such as age proof, educational qualification etc.
  • At last, submit the form.

Selection Procedure

Recruitment is done in three stages and the candidates are required to pass all the three to qualify for the applied position. Following are the stages of the selection process:

Academic Merit Test

This exam will be based on 10th class board exam (maximum 100 marks) & 12th class board exam (maximum 200 marks). Hence, shortlisting will be done considering the total of 300 marks.

Physical Efficiency Test

Candidates will be filtered based on the stamina that will be reflected from a long race. To check the physical fitness, there are different criteria for males and females. One is supposed to pass the test in order to qualify for the position.

Document Verification & Medical Examination

Candidates who are able to qualify the second stage of the process i.e. the Physical Efficiency Test, their documents will be verified and besides that, they will be also taken for a medical examination.

 Document Verification and Medical Examination

The shortlisting of the candidates will be done based on the total marks obtained in Physical Efficiency Test and subsequently shall be taken for a medical examination.

  • Medical Examination

Candidates who are shortlisted and whose records are found to be correct, will be required to attend a medical examination conducted by the Council.

Preparation Strategy/Tips and Tricks

For any position in the Police department, it is required to stay physically fit and healthy for this job. A rigorous workout routine and diet control is needed to come up to the physical standards. A strong will power and passion towards Police related jobs will take you ahead. The basic mantra remains disciplined workout to build a strong and a healthy body.

The syllabus should also be read thoroughly but more focus should be given to maintaining the prescribed physical standards.
