What is the Utkal University?

It was started in 1943, under the guidance of Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati and Pandit Godavarish Mishra. He Initiated Utkal University Bill, passed by Legislative Assembly on June 30th, 1943. The First Vice-chancellor of the Institute is Pranakrushna Parija. Institute started as an affiliating Body and afterward started undergraduate and Postgraduate Departments. There are 27 postgraduate research and teaching Departments, 15 sponsored courses, and three UGC sponsored programs.
