Tripura Combined Competitive Examination

Introduction

Tripura was ruled for several centuries by the Tripuri dynasty before independence. The independent Tripuri Kingdom or Hill Tippera joined the independent Indian Union in 1949 and got complete statehood on 21st January 1972. Tripura is the third-smallest state in the country covering 10,491 km2. The Bengali Hindu people are the majority and Indigenous communities, i.e., scheduled tribes are 30% of Tripura’s population. Among the 19 tribes and many other sub tribes, Kokborok speaking Tripuri people forms the majority group. Under the provisions of Article 315 of the constitution, Tripura Public Service Commission was established on 30th October 1972. The commission undertakes the responsibility of recruiting suitable human resource to various departments in the state government. Other popular state government job notification released by PSCs are TSPSC, TNPSC, KSPSC, APPSC, etc. 

Positions

Relaxations

  1. The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC, ST, Socially and eligible ex-service men and women.
  2. For Differently abled persons (PwD) the upper age limit is relaxed for 5 years.
  3.  Government servants belonging to SC, ST will not get extra relaxation.

How to Apply

  • Candidates should fill the Application form with required details.
  • Exam fees should be deposited in Account No.31176521319 or Tripura Gramin Bank, A/C No.14711 or State Bank of India in the favor of the Secretary, Tripura Public Service Commission.
  • Bank Receipt should be affixed in box specified on the 2nd page of application.
  • Two stamp size photos should be pasted in the application.
  • The duly filled application along with the bank receipt as proof for payment, should be sent to the commission.

Selection procedure

The Examination will comprise of three stages viz. Preliminary examination, main examination and Personality test/interview. The preliminary examination will be of qualifying in nature only the candidates qualified for prelims will be allowed to write mains examination. The candidates who perform well will be called for interview.

Examination Pattern

Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination consists of one paper having Multiple Choice Questions on General Studies and Arithmetics and one hour thirty minutes duration will be given to writing. The Preliminary Examination cutoff will be decided by the commission so that 5 (five) times the total number of posts (category wise) will be selected. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates will not be taken into consideration for determining the final merit list. Brief syllabus and the weightage of the marks for the topics is listed below.

Main Examination

The Main examination consists of two papers with conventional type questions. Paper 1 consists of questions from English. Brief syllabus and weight-age of the topics is given in the below table.

Personality Test

Candidates qualified in mains examination will be called for the interview/Personality test. Usually, three times the number of total posts (category wise) will be called for interview. Total marks assigned to this test will be 50. Final merit list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained in the mains examination and personality test.
