Telangana Teachers Eligibility Test


Telangana State School Education Department conducts teacher eligibility test for the recruitment of teachers in government schools, aided schools, and private schools. Candidates who qualify TET can apply for the teaching positions in these schools. It is prerequisite for the candidates to be eligible for appointment as a teacher. Kerala TETUP TET, APDSC TETOrissa TETJharkhand TETBihar TETMadhya Pradesh TET, etc., are the other popular Teacher eligibility tests in the country.


Candidates who qualify TET will be eligible to apply for teaching positions. The validity of the test is for a period of seven years and qualified individuals can also work in private schools. The below table explains the educational qualifications required for various positions.

General Candidates – 10+ 2 with 50% Marks. SC/ST/BC/PH candidates – 10+2 with 45%. Marks


Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education / Two – year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

There is no age limit for writing Teaching Eligibility Test. The TET certificate is valid for a period of seven years.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC and physically challenged category can apply for the exam, even if they have 45% marks in their qualifying examination.

Application Procedure

  • 1) Candidates must be ready with a scanned copy of a photograph of size 4.5X3.5cms and signature in Jpeg format.
  • 2) Visit the official website http://tstet.cgg.gov.in/ and navigate to the link apply online.
  • 3) Fill the all the requisite details in the application and upload scanned file of image and Signature.
  • 7) Submit the online application after clicking on the declaration.
  • 8) Save the .pdf file of the application and take a print for future references.

Examination Pattern

The Written examination for State Eligibility Test consists of two papers. The first paper is applicable only for primary teachers i.e., for class I to V and second paper for class VI to VIII.

This TET certificate is valid for seven years, adds twenty percent weightage in the recruitment of teaching positions.
