Educational Qualification

• Forest Guard -  The candidates must be 12th passed with any of the following subjects, Zoology, Physics, Botany, Chemistry, or Biology from a recognized board.
• Forest Guard with Driving license - IThe candidates must be 12th pass in any of these subjects, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology, Botany or Biology from a recognized board. The candidates must have a driving license issued by a competent transport authority. He /she should know the mechanism of automobiles. Must have clear eyesight.
• Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - The candidate must have a Master’s Degree in Anatomy or have an M.Sc in Wildlife Biology or Zoology from a recognized institute with minimum of 60% marks.

Age Limit

• Forest Guard - 18 years - 30 years
• Forest Guard with Driving License - 18 years - 30 years
• Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - 18 years - 28 years

Note: There is an age relaxation of up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Women and physically challenged candidates.

Tamil Nadu Forest Department Exam Pattern

After referring to the exam pattern, the candidates will get an idea about the total marks and the time duration of the exam. The question paper will be based on objective type of questions. Each question will carry one mark. The total marks will be 150. Minimum qualifying marks for the SC/ST/OBC categories is 30% and for other categories the minimum marks is 40%.
