About Sambalpur University

It was started in the year 1966 on 10th December. The concern behind the Academy is to fulfil the dreams of the Odisha people. The Academy started its functioning on January 1st, 1967. This Institute is Expanded totally in 10 Districts, that include Athamallik, Boudh, Kalahandi, Nawapara, Subarnapur, Bolangir, Bargah, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur.

It offers postgraduate courses in 27 subjects, with 20 PG Departments. It is like a one-year study program for M.Phil Degree, and 2-year course for MA/M.Sc/LLM and Business administration/M.lib. The college contains 10, Postgraduate hostels, in the college. Facilities of the Institute Include STD Booth, First Aid, Guest Room, Magazine, Newspaper, reading room, and Tv Room. The centres of the Academy include Directorate of Distance Education, Private Education cell, One nodal computer centre, Academic Staff college. College Yoga Centre, Professor Bhubaneswar Behera central library. All this will act as the main pillars of the Institute. The PG Departments include Mathematics, Library & Information science, Economics, History, Life sciences, and Chemistry.
