Rajasthan RAS-RTS Examination

Introduction

Rajasthan state was formed on 30 March 1949 and Rajasthan Public Service Commission had a glorious past history of 50 years. After the merger of the princely states, an ordinance was promulgated on 16th August 1949 to establish the Rajasthan Public Service Commission at Ajmer. Rajasthan Public Service Commission presently has one chairman and seven members. Governor of the state appoints these constitutional positions.

Rajasthan Public service commission (RPSC) conducts a state-level examination called Rajasthan Administrative Service/Subordinate Services Exam (RAS) for the recruitment of human resource in various administrative services of the state. The other popular state level administrative exams are WB Civil Service Executive Exam, Gujarat Civil Services, Haryana Civil ServicesNagaland Civil Service Exam, etc. For clearing these exams one should have a positive attitude along with good knowledge on current affairs and GK. Eligibility

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or candidates appearing for the final exam of their bachelor’s degree course are also eligible. The minimum age required to appear for the exam is 21 years and the maximum is 35 years.

How to Apply

Before starting the application candidates need to go through the notification carefully and ensure their eligibility. The Candidates needs to first visit the official website and should navigate to registration link.

  • Candidates should click on the apply online button and must fill the application online
  • Candidates should upload scan files of recent passport photo and full signature
  • Candidates need to give working mail id and mobile number in the application
  • Then the candidates need to pay the requisite amount
  • After ensuring the correctness of the details candidates should Click on ‘Submit’ button.
  • Then application id will be generated, candidates can download and take print of the application form for future use.

Selection Procedure

The candidates should undergo three types of tests for getting recruited into the post. First candidates need to qualify the Preliminary Examination, and then after that, they need to attend the mains examination. Then candidates need to attend an interview which will be the final step in the selection process.

Exam Pattern

Preliminary examination – objective type

The written exam consists of preliminary exam and mains exam. The preliminary examination which of qualifying in nature carries 200 marks. The questions standard will be of bachelor’s degree level. The qualifying marks will be set by the commission based on the number of vacancies. The marks obtained in the preliminary exam will not be counted in the final merit list.

Main examination – Written Examination

Commission will select 15 times the total approximate number of vacancies (category wise) for the mains examination. The mains examination will be having four papers which will be descriptive/analytical. A candidate must write all the papers and these papers usually consists of brief, medium, long answer and descriptive questions. The General Hindi and General English questions standard will be of Sr. Secondary level. Each paper will be given 3 hours of time. Commission will set the minimum qualifying marks for personality test or interview.

Personality and viva-voce

Candidates who qualify in the written test of the Main examination will be summoned for an interview or personality test that carries 100 marks. In the interviewing process, the board members assesses the attitude, personality, candidate’s knowledge of Rajasthani culture, etc. However, for the selection candidates into Rajasthan Police Service, candidates having NCC ‘C’ Certificate will be given be given preference.
