Rajasthan Forest Department Recruitment

Introduction

Rajasthan, the largest state of India having around 11% of country’s total geographical area. However, the forest cover of Rajasthan is only 9.5% of the total geographical area, as most of the geographical area comes under the arid type of climate. A unified Forest Department was established in 1951 to have the regular scientific management of the forests and to achieve the goals of National Forest Policy and the State Policy. The forest department of Rajasthan has two main objectives

  1. Conservation of forest areas by effectively implementing the forest protection methods or programs
  2. Successfully implementing afforestation program

The Forest Department is the solely responsible for the management of forests and wildlife that comes under the state. It mainly focuses on the implementation of three acts i.e. Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, Rajasthan Forest Act, and Forest (Conservation) Act. The department also focuses on various other activities such as Forest Protection, Forest Development Works, Wildlife Management, Soil and Moisture Conservation Works, Extension and Training Research, etc. Other popular state forest service exams in the country are Orissa ForestKarnataka ForestGujarat ForestUttarakhand ForestGoa ForestMadhya Pradesh Forest, etc.

Physical Standards

The aspiring candidates must have the below mentioned physical measurements

For Male Candidates

  1. Height – 163 cms
  2. Chest (Normal) – 84 cms
  3. Chest (Expanded) – 89 cms

For Female Candidates

  1. Height – 150 cms
  2. Chest (Normal) – 79 cms
  3. Chest (Expanded) – 84 cms

Relaxation

The relaxation of age, educational qualification for the candidates belonging to SC/ST and BC will be as per the government rules.

Selection Procedure

The selection of candidates for the vacant posts in the department is a three step process. First, the candidates need to qualify written exam which is of 100 marks. Then the qualified candidates need to undergo physical efficiency test and upon qualifying physical efficiency test the candidates will become eligible for interview.

Examination Pattern

Written examination

The written examination consists of 100 multiple choice questions, which carries a total 100 marks. The questions will be asked in Hindi medium. The questions will be from the below mentioned topics.

  1. Sanskrit

  3. General Science
  4. Mathematics
  5. Politics
  6. Geography
  7. History

Physical Efficiency Test

For Male Candidates

  1. Sit-ups – 25 rounds in 1 minute
  2. Walking – 25 km in 4 hours
  3. Throw (cricket ball) – 55 meters

For Female Candidates

  1. Shot put (4 kgs) – 4.5 meters
  2. Walking – 16 km in 4 hours
  3. Throw (cricket ball) – 1.35 meters

Interview

The interview is the final and also very important stage in the screening process. The interview board assesses the attitude and mental preparedness of the candidates with respect to the vacant job position.
