The State of Nagaland was formed on December 1st, 1963, as the 16th State of Indian Union. Nagaland consists of 7 Administrative Districts, inhabited mainly by 16 major tribes along with many other sub-tribes. Each tribe has their own of customs, language, and dress which will differ from one other. It is a land of folklore music is an integral part of Nagas life.
Nagaland is also called as the Switzerland of the East due to its picturesque landscapes, lush and verdant flora, vibrantly colorful sunrise and sunset. Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) conducts Combined Technical Services Examination for recruitment of candidates for technical posts in various sectors under Government of Nagaland. Other states that are popular in releasing government job recruitment advertisements are Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, etc.

The upper age limit is relaxed by five years for SC and ST. For government in-service employees the age is relaxable to a maximum of five years based on their service in the job.
- There will be a reservation of 3% for physically challenged persons
- Eighty percent of vacant posts are reserved for indigenous people of Naga tribe, Kuki, Garo, Kachari, and Garo.
- In this 80% posts, 25% of the posts are reserved for Konyak, Phom, Sangtam, Chang, Khiamniungan and Yichunger
Another 12% posts are reserved for Chakhesang, Pochury, Sumis, Kiphire and Zelang

Candidates must read the Notification & Online Instructions carefully before starting to fill the “Online Application”. Candidates should also keep scanned copies of their signature, passport size photo as per the prescribed guidelines.
- Step 1: Candidates should first visit the official website Nagaland.gov.in and navigate to the apply button
- Step 2: Candidates need to fill the basic details like Full Name, Father’s name, E-mail Address etc.,
- Step 3: After thoroughly checking all the fields click on ‘Final Submit’ button for generating exam fee Challan or candidates can make online payment using debit/credit/net banking
- Step 4: Candidates who do offline payment should note their transaction id and should note in the online application form to complete the application process
The candidates are screened through three step process. The candidates should first attempt prelims and if the candidate qualifies he/she should submit the hard copies (Xerox) of the educational qualifications to the board. If the board approves the documents, the candidates are called for mains examination. After qualifying the mains exam the candidates needs to attend an interview which will be the final test. Based on the performance in mains exam and interview the candidates are recruited.
The written exam consists of prelims that will be having objective type questions carrying 100 marks from the general English and general studies.

The technical subject paper consists of 200 Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) with one mark for each question. There will be negative marking for wrong answers and it will be half mark for each wrong answer.
The Interview is mainly intended to assess the personality and overall intelligence of the candidate. Interview board carefully analyses the attitude of the candidate and his overall capability to justify the position.
