Manipur Teacher Eligibility Test


Manipur Teacher Eligibility Test or simply Manipur TET and is organised by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM). It aims at recruiting teaching staff in primary (Class I-V) and upper primary (VI-VIII) schools within the state of Manipur. All the  B.Ed qualified candidates who are aspiring to become teachers in government run schools and private schools have to appear in the Manipur TET. 1HeadmasterShould be a postgraduate or a trained graduate with 5 years of teaching experience in a recognized school
2 Class I to V teachersSenior secondary qualified with an aggregate of 45% or appearing in final 2 year diploma or appearing in 4 year B.Ed or 2 year diploma in special education or B.A or B.Sc with 50% aggregate and B.Ed qualification.
3Class VI-VIII teachersB.A or B.Sc or B.Ed with 50% aggregate or appearing in 2 years diploma with 45% aggregate.
4Trained Physical Education Teacher

Note: According to the norms of the Board of Secondary Education Manipur, the selected candidates will be paid an amount of Rs. 5,200 to 26,000 with a grade pay of Rs. 2,800 per month.


  • The pass marks is 60% for general candidates whereas  for OBS, SC, ST and physically challenged candidates 50%.


  • Only Indian candidates above 21 years old or above are eligible to apply.

Application Procedure

  • Log on to the official website www.bsem.nic.in.
  • Click on Manipur TET application notification.
  • Click on the application form and enter the required details without making any mistakes.
  • Upload your scanned signature and photograph and pay the requisite fee amount.

Selection Process

The selection process comprises two steps; written examination and document verification.

Written Test

To qualify the minimum candidates should get a minimum 60% marks.

Document Verification

The candidates must produce the following certificates:

  • TET score card
  • Age proof
  • Educational qualification certificates
  • Caste certificate (if applicable) or in the case of PH, a certificate is needed stating the candidate is Physically Handicapped.

Exam Pattern

The written exam consists will be having two papers i.e., Paper-I and Paper – II.

Paper I: There will be 5 sections and each section will have Multiple Choice Questions that carries a total of 30 marks each. The topics that are covered in the paper are given below.

  • Child development and Pedagogy
  • Language I (English)
  • Language II (MIL)
  • Mathematics
  • Environmental Studies

Paper II: This is for those who are aspiring to become teachers for classes 6th to 8th. The first three sections comprise of multiple choice questions for 30 marks each and the last section containing maths/social science as per the choice of the candidate with 60 marks. The topics include:

  • Child development and Pedagogy
  • Language I (English)
  • Language II (MIL)
  • Mathematics
  • Social Science

Note: Paper I and Paper II are conducted on the same day. Paper I will be conducted in the morning and Paper II in the evening.
