Maharashtra State Teachers Eligibility Test

Introduction

In order to recruit the teachers for Primary (Class I-V) and Upper-primary (class VI-VIII) schools within the State, Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) conducts Maharashtra State Teacher Eligibility Test (MAHA TET). The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education was established on January 1, 1966, in Pune.

The exam is mandatory for the candidates who aspire to become teachers in Primary or Upper primary schools in the State. Regular notifications pertaining to the vacancies and exam dates are released by the government. Other state government such as Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, etc., also releases TET notification regularly. In order to stay updated about the notifications, candidates can visit ‘Drona’.

Positions

The pay scale and the eligibility criteria required by the candidates to attend the exam are given in the below table.

The reservations and relaxations will be in accordance with the state government rules.

The important notifications released by the Maharashtra government are Maharastra Police and Maharashtra SSE. The aspirants should keep visiting ‘Drona’ to keep a track on all the notifications that are updated on the website.

Application Procedure

  • Visit http://rmsaassam.in/
  • Download the challan form and deposit the application fee
  • Visit again the official website and navigate to the ‘APPLY’ button
  • Fill the Application form carefully and upload a scanned copy of recent colour passport size photograph along with signature
  • Enter the payment details and press submit

Selection Procedure

Maharashtra TET Exam consists of two Papers viz. Paper-I & Paper-II. Both papers contain 150 Objective type questions with 1 mark each. Total marks are 150 for each.

MAHA TET Paper-I

This paper is for the candidates who aspire to become teachers for Class I to V in Maharashtra Primary Schools.

MAHA TET Paper-II

Candidates who aspire to become teachers for Class VI to VIII in Maharashtra Upper Primary schools should qualify the exam along with the first paper.

Paper-II Upper Primary Level (Class VI-VIII)

There are total four parts in this test including three compulsory. Candidates applying for Mathematics and Science subjects are required to write part 4A while as the other candidates are required to write part 4B.
