Maharashtra TET 2019 (MAHA TET)
Maharashtra State Council of Examination, Pune is responsible for conducting Maharashtra State Teachers Eligibility Test. MAHA TET is the minimum eligibility for the candidates to get appointed as teachers for Class 1-8 in government schools in the Maharashtra state. MAHA TET Examination is held at two levels:
- Primary Level (Paper-I)
- Upper Primary Level (Paper-II)
- Both the papers are mandatory for the candidates who want to teach at both primary and upper level.
Last year, approximately 3 lakh aspirants had appeared for the MAHA TET exam. Maharashtra TET eligibility certificate which is valid for 7 years.
Eligibility Criteria for Maharashtra TET Recruitment 2020
Educational Qualification for Class I-V (Paper-I)
- Candidate should have to pass the higher secondary exam with at least 50% score in recognized board and a two-year diploma in primary education from the recognized institution OR
- Completed degree with at least 45% marks from a recognized board as per National Council of Teacher Education (Regulations 2002) and passing one year Bachelor in Education OR
- Passed higher secondary exam with at least 50% marks in the certified exam board and 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education OR
- Passed the higher secondary exam with at least 50% marks in the certified examination board and 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or BA.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed OR
- Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks and a year of certified university B.Ed (special education)
Eligibility Criteria for Class VI to VIII (Paper-II)
- Passed a two-year diploma in an accredited university and accredited institution OR
- Passed degree with a minimum of 45% marks from a recognized university as per the National Council Of Teacher Education (Regulation,2000) and passing one year Bachelor in Education OR
- Passing the Higher secondary Examination with minimum 50% of marks in the approved examination board and four years of Bachelor of Elementary Education OR
- Completed the higher secondary examination with a minimum of 50% marks in the approved examination board and four- year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed. Or BA.Ed./ B.SC.Ed OR
- Degree from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks and one year of approved B.Ed OR
- Passed degree examination in Horticulture and Crop Science and Health care medical services group in pre-school management.

The Maharashtra TET Exam Syllabus includes the following subjects and topics.
- Language 1: Marathi, English, Urdu, Bengali/Gujarati/Telugu/Sindhi/Kannada/Hindi
- Language 2: English/Marathi/Marathi or English, Marathi or English
- Child Development and pedagogy: Special needs of children, their qualities, school interaction, good teacher quality. Questions will be based on the methodology of teaching and evaluation methodology along with the study process of students of 6 to 11 years
- Mathematics: Basic understanding of mathematics, logic, problem solving and pedagogical knowledge of mathematics
- Campus Exercises: History, civics, geography, general science, environment and pedagogical knowledge of this subject
Maharashtra TET Exam Pattern 2020
Maharashtra TET 2019 will be divided into two papers. Paper I is for the aspirants who are willing to teach for class 1-5 whereas paper II is for the aspirants who are willing to teach class 6-8.
- Questions asked will be of objective type
- The duration of the written exam is 2 1/2 hours
- Each question carries one mark
- There will be no negative marking for wrong answers
- Questions will be set to assess a candidate’s ability to analyze, interpret and apply the subject matter
