Madhya Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test

Introduction

The Government of Madhya Pradesh will conduct Teachers Eligibility Test as per the rules and regulations of Central Regulatory Authority, which is also known as Madhya Pradesh TET. Through this exam, the candidates will be tested for their understanding of the subject matter and the ability to handle a child. After qualifying the TET exam the candidates become eligible to become teachers of primary (class I -V) and upper primary (VI-VIII) schools in the state of Madhya Pradesh. For all the B.Ed candidates, TET is now a compulsory examination to get qualified for teacher jobs in the government schools either aided or unaided schools.

Positions

Through this exam, the board recruits teachers for primary classes, i.e., Class I-V and upper primary classes i.e. Class VI-VIII.

Eligibility

Candidates must be a citizen of India.

  • Candidate’s age must have a minimum of 21 years age and the upper limit is 40 years.
  • Educational Qualifications-
  1. a) For Class I-V teachers– Senior secondary with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks and appearing for their final exam of 2 year diploma or 4 year B.Ed course or candidates having passed B.A or B.Sc with 50% aggregate with B.Ed qualification.
  2. b) For Class VI-VIII teachers- Graduation or B.A or B.Sc with B.Ed with a minimum of 45% aggregate   (or)
  • A four year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)  (or)
  • A four year Bachelor’s degree in Arts  (or)
  • B.Sc./BA in Education  (or)
  • B.Ed. (Special Education) with at least 50 percent marks in BA or B.Sc.

Relaxation

  • Age relaxations are given as per the state government norms.
  • Pay scale for these posts will be according to the norms of the Board of Secondary Education Madhya Pradesh.

Application Procedure

Candidates must visit the official website and should navigate to registration link  www.mppsc.nic.in

  • Candidates need to fill error free details in the application and should upload scanned copies of recent passport size photo and full signature.
  • After finishing the registration process candidates will get User ID and Password.
  • With the generated user ID and password candidates need to login to the website.
  • Then, the candidates needs to navigate to current notification and should apply for the notified posts.

Selection Procedure

The aspiring candidates need to clear the written examination. Candidates who want to apply for both primary and upper primary teachers, must have to appear in both the papers i.e., Paper I and Paper II. This TET score will be given weightage during the selection of candidates for the vacant teacher posts.

Examination Pattern

Paper I (For class I-V)

This paper consists of five sections. Each section will be having 30 multiple choice questions with a total of 30 marks and the allotted time for this paper is 2 hours 30 minutes. The questions will be asked from following topics

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy
  2. Language I
  3. Language II
  4. Mathematics
  5. Environmental Studies

Paper-II (For VI-VIII)

This paper consists of four sections. Each section will be having 30 multiple choice questions with a total of 30 marks and the allotted time for this paper is 2 hours 30 minutes. The last section will be from Mathematics or Social Science depending on the subject opted by the candidate. The questions are asked from following topics

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy
  2. Language I
  3. Language II
  4.  a) Mathematics or Science (For Mathematics or Science Teacher)                                      b) Social Science (For Social Science Teacher)
