Madhya Pradesh (MP) is a state in central India and Nicknamed as the “heart of India” due to its geographical location. - For grade I jobs the pay scale will be Rs. 1560039100 with a Grade pay of 5400
- For grade II jobs the pay scale will be Rs.930034800 with a Grade pay of 3600
- For grade III jobs the pay scale will be Rs. 520020200 with a Grade pay of 2800
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or candidates appearing for the final exam of their bachelor’s degree course are also eligible. The minimum age required to appear for the exam is 21 years and the maximum is 40 years. Maximum age limit for Deputy Superintendent of Police will be 25, Deputy Jailor 30 and TSI will be 2135.
Five years relaxation will be given to women, SC, and ST candidates. For Non-local candidates, the upper age limit will be 35.

Candidates are selected through a three step process and the first step i.e., prelims which is just qualifying in nature. The steps are listed below
- (a) Preliminary examination
- (c) Mains exam
- (d) Interview/Viva-voce
The preliminary examination which of qualifying in nature, and has two papers of 200 marks each. The questions standard will be of bachelor’s degree level. The qualifying marks will be decided by the commission based on the number of vacancies. The marks obtained in this exam will not be counted in the final merit list.

The mains examination will be having six papers which will be descriptive/analytical. A candidate must write all the papers and these papers usually consist of brief, medium, long answer and descriptive questions. The standard of question on General Hindi and General English will be of Sr. Secondary level. First five papers will be given 3 hours of time and the sixth paper i.e, essay writing paper will be given two hours time. Commission will set the minimum qualifying marks for personality test or interview. The pattern of mains exam is listed below:

Personality and Viva-voce Examination
Candidates who qualify in the written test of the Main Examination, will be summoned for an interview or personality test that carries 175 marks. In the interviewing process, the board member assesses the attitude, personality, candidate’s readiness for the job.
