Eligibility Criteria for KTET Feb 2020

Aspirants should meet the following academic, age limit, and other requirements to apply for Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test 2020. The following section covers the eligibility conditions of Lower Primary, Upper Primary, High School and Special category teacher jobs.

Category I Lower Primary Teacher Requirements

  • Candidates should possess at least 45% marks in Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or its equivalent from any recognized university or board.
  • Should have 2 years Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) conducted by Govt of Kerala Board of Examination OR
  • You should have minimum 45% marks in Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or any equivalent from any recognized state-level board
  • Two years Diploma in Elementary Education with NCTE Recognition Norms and Regulations 2020 OR
  • Aspirants must have at least 50 percent marks in Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or any equivalent
  • Four years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed). OR
  • 50% marks required in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

Note: 

  • 5% age relaxation applicable for SC and ST candidates
  • 3% age relaxation applicable for OBC and OEC candidates

Category II Upper Primary Teacher Requirements

  • Aspirants should complete BA/BSc/BCom with 2 years Diploma in Trained Teachers Certificate (TTC)/ Diploma in Elementary Education organised by the Board of Examination, Govt of Kerala or any equivalent
  • OR
  • 45% marks required in BA/BSc/BCom and 1 year BEd as per norms and regulations of NCTE
  • OR
  • Minimum 50% marks required in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or its equivalent with 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed)
  • OR
  • 50% marks required in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or any equivalent with 4 years BA Ed or BA/B.Sc.Ed or B.Sc.Ed.
  • Note: 5% age relaxation is given for ST/ SC and physically disabled candidates and 3% for OBC and OEC candidates

Category III High School Teacher Requirements

  • Minimum 45% marks required in BA/BSc/BCom with B.Ed. Degree in concerned subject from any recognized university or state govt
  • Candidates should possess 50% marks in MScEd Degree (relevant subject) for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany.
  • Minimum 45% marks required in BA or any equivalent with LTTC

Category IV Teacher Requirements

  • Candidates must have relevant qualification for Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit & Urdu language teachers, Specialist Teachers, and Physical Education teachers

How to fill Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test Application Form

Steps to Apply for KTET Exam 2020

  • The first step of the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test application process is the Fee payment
  • Candidates have to pay the application fee through Debit card/ Credit Card/ net banking or challan.
  • Now, Candidates have to open the official website of the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test
  • Enter the Transaction ID or SB collect reference number, mobile number, Date of Birth and other details in the login page
  • Later, fill academic and personal information.
  • You have to choose the test centres while filling the application form
  • Upload the scanned signature and photograph
  • The photo size and dimension should be 20 KB to 30 KB and 200 pixels (height) x 150 pixels (width)
  • After completion of the upload process, you have to Save the page
  • After that, press on Preview
  • Once verify the filled information.
  • Press Final Submit, If all details are correct
  • Press Edit Application, if you found any incorrect information
  • Candidates may take a print out of the application submission page and challan for future reference.
