Jharkhand Police Department Recruitment

Introduction

Jharkhand Staff Selection commission conducts recruitment drive for constables, sub-inspector and assistant sub-inspector positions in the state. Candidates willing to join Jharkhand Police must go through competitive examination and physical tests. Other important state police service exams that are popular are Chattisgarh Police,Maharashtra Police. Drona provides required guidance to the aspirants to crack these exams.

Physical Standards

Height

  • For Men (General/OBC/ST)- 168 cm
  • For Women (General/OBC/ST) – 152 cm
  • For SC Men- 160 cm
  • For SC Women – 150 cm

Chest For Men

  • Normal for General/OBC/ST – 79 cm
  • Expanded for General/OBC/ST – 84 cm
  • Normal for SC – 77 cm
  • Expanded for SC – 82 cm

Relaxations

Three years of age relaxation is applicable for OBC candidates as per the Jharkhand government rules and five years for SC and ST candidates.

Selection Procedure

Jharkhand Police recruitment involves three successive stages for constables and four stages for Sub-Inspector Positions.

For Constables

  • STEP 1 – Prelims (Objective Type)
  • STEP 2 – Mains Examination
  • STEP 3 – Physical test and Medical Test

For Sub-Inspector

  • STEP 1 – Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
  • STEP 2 – Mains Examination
  • STEP 3 – Physical test and Medical Test
  • STEP 4 – Interview.

Physical Test

The candidates should match up to the specifications mentioned in point 3.1 and have to clear running test.

  • For Male candidates – 10 km race in 60 minutes.
  • For Female candidates – 5 km race in 30 minutes.
