Jammu and Kashmir Police Recruitment

Introduction

The JKP or Jammu and Kashmir Police came into existence in the year 1873. Its main responsibilities are to maintain Law and Order and to maintain peace in the twenty two districts of the State of Jammu & Kashmir. For the security of the State, JKP works alongside the Indian Army, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and other agencies. Physical Efficiency Test

  • For Male Candidates
  • a) MUST complete a long race of 1600 Meters in 6 minutes and 32 seconds
  • b) MUST complete 20 Push-ups
  • For Female Candidates
  • a) MUST complete a Long race of 1000 Meters in 6 minutes and 32 seconds
  • b) MUST throw a shot put of 4kgs more than 14 and half feet

Relaxations

For SPOs/VHGs and Ex-servicemen, the upper age limit will be 48 years.

Application Procedure

Selection Procedure

Recruitment is done in three stages and the candidates are required to pass all the three to qualify for the applied position. Following are the stages of the selection process:

Written Examination

The written examination is an objective type and the question paper consists of 100 questions with 100 Marks and the time duration for this exam will be 2 hours.

Physical Standard Test

In order to qualify for the positions advertised by the Police department of Jammu and Kashmir, candidates must possess physical standards mentioned in the notification.

Physical Efficiency Test

Candidates will be filtered based on their physical strength tested through long race and push-ups.
