Tier I Pattern

  • SSC CHSL tier I exam is computer based test
  • 200 marks awarded for 100 questions
  • Each question carries 2 marks
  •  0.50 negative marking applicable for each wrong answer
  • Exam questions will be on Reasoning Ability Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and English Language
  • Each subject has equal weightage of 50 marks with 25 questions
  • Total duration of the exam will be 60 minutes and it will be extended by 20 minutes for PWD cadidates

Tier II Pattern

  • SSC CHSL tier consists of 2 exams
  •  Those are Descriptive exam and written test
  • In the descriptive examination, English and Hindi typing skills of a candidate will be tested
  • All questions are asked on the basis of 10th standard
  • Coming to the written test, there are Essay wring and application or letter writing
  • 200 to 250 words and 150 to 200 words for Essay writing and Letter or Application writing respectively
  • Total duration of the test 60 minutes and it is extended by 20 minutes for PWD candidates
  • Total marks for the test 100

Tier III Pattern

  • Tier II is qualifying in nature. it is typing test
  • For English - 35 words per minute and 30 words for Hindi
  • Total time will be 15 minutes and 30 minutes for hindi
