Himachal Pradesh police agency was formed in the year 1948 and Director General of Police heads the department. Himachal Pradesh Police recruitment department conducts the Himachal Pradesh Police Examination for recruiting police force into different departments. There are more than 1800 vacancies under the Himachal Pradesh Police. Other important state police service notification in our country are Gujarat Police, WB Police, Tripura Police, Sikkim Police, Nagaland Police, Mizoram Police, Uttarakhand Police, etc.

The mode of selection is conducted in three consecutive steps. Candidates selected in Step 1 must attend the next step of the selection mode and so on.
- STEP 1 – Written Examination
- STEP 2 – Physical test
- STEP 3 – Interview
The first stage of selection procedure in Himachal Pradesh Police Department examination is Written Examination. There is 1 paper and 5 sections in written examination. The Paper is of objective type.
The candidate’s physical standards should meet the specifications mentioned in point 3.1. Apart from the specification mentioned in 3.1, there are other physical efficiency tests that need to be qualified by the candidates like, race, high jump, and long jump.
The Interview is the last stage of recruitment process under Himachal Pradesh Police.
For the selection of deserving candidates from all the candidates, the Himachal Pradesh Police Department conducts the examination in three consecutive steps.
It is the first stage of Himachal Pradesh Police examination. There is 1 paper at this stage. The paper is of objective type with 80 questions with each question carrying 1 mark. The time duration is 1 hours. The questions are asked from following subjects –

- Reasoning Ability
- Mathematics and Science

It is the last stage of Himachal Pradesh Police Department examination. The candidates selected in the written examination and physical test must attend the Interview. It carries 15 marks.
