Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test

Introduction

Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test or Haryana-TET is conducted by Board of School Education Haryana for recruitment in Elementary, Secondary, and Senior Secondary levels within the state. There are 3 levels of examinations. Level 1 examination is conducted for recruitment of Primary teachers (class I-V). Level 2 examination is conducted for recruitment of Secondary teachers (class VI-VIII). Level 3 examination is conducted for recruitment of Higher teachers. Other popular TET exams in the country are UP TETHP Teacher Eligibility Test, Jharkhand TETBihar TETWB Teachers Recruitment TestMadhya Pradesh TET, etc.

Application Procedure

  • Log on to the official website http://htet.nic.in/
  • Click on Haryana TET application form on the home page.
  • Enter your academic and personal details accurately.
  • Upload your scanned signature and photograph.
  • Click on ‘submit’.
  • Take the printout of application form for future references.

Application Fee

Application fee is different for the two modes of examination-

  • For Online mode –
  • All Candidates except SC and Differently abled – 600/-
  • SC and Differently abled candidates of Haryana – 300/-
  • SC and Differently abled candidates of another state – 600/-
  • For Offline mode –
  • All Candidates except SC and Differently abled – 700/-
  • SC and Differently abled candidates of Haryana – 350/-
  • SC and Differently abled candidates of another state – 700/-

Selection Procedure

Written Examination

The written examination is conducted for appointment of Primary, Secondary, and Higher teachers within the state. There are separate papers for all the three categories. The Paper I is for Level 1 candidates and Paper II is for Level 2 candidates, and Paper III is for Level 3 candidates.

Step II – Interview

The selected candidates will have to go through the last stage of selection process i.e. Interview.

Exam Pattern

Written Examination

There are separate papers for all the three different categories of candidates. Level 1 is for the Primary section and Level 2 is for the Secondary section, and Level 3 is for Higher section. All the papers are of objective type and there is no negative marking.

Level 1 – Level 1 consists of 5 subjects, each subject carries 30 questions with a total of 150 marks. The total time duration is 2 and half hour.

Level 2 – Level 2 consists of 4 subjects with three subjects having 30 questions and last subject having 60 questions carrying a total of 150 marks. The total time duration is 2 and half hour.

Level 3 – Level 3 consists of 4 subjects with three subjects having 30 questions and last subject having 60 questions carrying a total of 150 marks. The total time duration is 2 and half hour.

Interview

Candidates selected in written examination are then called for the final stage of selection process i.e Interview

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language-1
  • Language-2
  • Mathematics
  • Environmental Studies

Level 2 – The questions are asked from following subjects-

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language-1
  • Language-2

Either one from the following-

  • Mathematics & Science
  • Social Science

Level 3 – The questions are asked from following subjects-

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language-1
  • Language-2
  • Specific Subject

Preparation/Strategy

A thorough subject knowledge is needed for all the subjects. This is the only way to crack this exam. A strict study discipline is needed with devoted time and attention to clear this exam.
