Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • For master technician post the qualification is ITI pass in electrical/ mechanical/ civil engineering from a recognized institution.
  • For Foreman in Tura polytechnic post the qualification is diploma and preference will be given to candidates having practical experience in any engineering.
  • For remaining posts the qualification is bachelor degree/ graduation/ BE/ B.tech from a recognized university.

Age Limit

Minimum age for applicants is 18 years, maximum age for applicants is 27 years. Upper age limit for SC/ST is 05 years, 03 years for OBC.

Selection process

Candidates will be selected based on performance in written examination, screening test, physical efficiency test.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Age limit of the applicants should be middle of 18 years to 27 years as on 1st January 2018.

Education Qualifications

Candidates have to completed Degree/Masters Degree/Graduation/B. Sc/Diploma in a relevant field from any recognized university.

Selection Process

The method of selection will be based on the following ways

Selected candidates will get the monthly pay based on their designation which has given below.

  • For Posts 1 to 3: Rs. 17,000- Rs.33690/- including all taxes.
  • For Posts 4 to 7: Rs. 15,700- Rs. 30,610/- including all taxes.
  • For Posts 8 to 19: Rs. 14,700- Rs.  28,760/- including all taxes.
  • For Post 20: Rs. 16,300/-Rs.31,860/- including all taxes.

Meghalaya Public Service Commision Civil Services 2018 Notification

The Meghalaya Public Service Commission was established on 14 September 1972. The basic purpose of the Commission is to recruit the officials in various departments of the Government. In order to recruit the officers in the Meghalaya Civil Services (Executive Branch), MPSC conducts the Meghalaya State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination. Other important state level Civil services are conducted in states like Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Nagaland, Gujarat, etc. Drona website provides all the required information to crack these government job exams.


There is a relaxation of 5 years on the upper age limit for Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes.

Application Procedure

  • All candidates are advised to have a valid email ID and a scanned copy of recent colour passport size photograph along with the signature at its bottom. The scanned images must be in .jpg/.jpeg format only and the size of each document must not exceed 50 KB.
  • Candidates need to fill the Online Registration form with relevant details.
  • After the form submission, candidates need to upload scanned copy of the photograph along with the signature.
  • After paying the requisite fee, the application needs to be submitted.

Selection Procedure

The selection process is done in 3 successive steps. Candidates need to pass all the three stages to qualify for the civil service posts. The three stages of the induction are as follows

Stage-1 (Prelims)

The Preliminary Examination is the first stage of the Meghalaya Civil Services. This exam is qualifying in nature and the marks obtained will not be counted in the final merit list.

Stage-2 (Main)

As the name itself suggests, the Main Examination is one of the important parts of the Meghalaya Civil Services. The exam maintains the standard of Bachelor’s level studies. Knowledge on Current affairsGK, etc., is necessary to qualify in this exam.

Stage 3 (Interview)

After successfully qualifying the Prelims and Main exams, the candidates will be called for the interview which is the last stage of the selection procedure.

Interview is the last stage of the screening process and carries total 250 marks. Candidates need to pass the interview in order to qualify for the civil services.
