The State of Himachal Pradesh (HP) is located in the northern part of India and Shimla is its capital city. On 26th January 1950, Himachal Pradesh became the part C State of India and on 1st November 1956, it became a union territory. For administration purpose, the state is divided into 3 divisions – Kangra, Mandi, and Shimla and these divisions are divided into total 12 districts. Many perennial rivers flow through the state, and numerous hydroelectric projects were built on them. Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission was formed on 8th April 1971 with the purpose of recruiting eligible candidates for the posts in various departments of the state. Sh. K.S. Tomar is the current chairman of the commission and Sh. Sanjeev Pathania (IAS) Secretary while Sh. Pardeep Singh Chauhan and Dr. Man Singh were its members.
