Goa Government Jobs 2019 Notifications

The State of Goa is located in the southwestern part of the country. On 30th May 1987, Goa was made as the 25th State of India with Panaji as its capital. It is the smallest state in terms of geographical area and fourth smallest by population. It is the India’s richest state with 2.5 times the average GDP per capital of the country. Goa’s beaches, holy places and world class heritage architecture attract national and international tourists throughout the year. Laxmikant Parsekar is the current chief minister of the State. The State is divided into two administrative districts viz. North Goa and South Goa. North Goa is further divided into 3 subdivisions while South Goa into five. According to the 2011 census, the State’s total population is 14,57,723 with a sex ratio is 973 females per 1000 males and the literacy rate is 88.70%. Goa is the home of India’s earliest educational institutions built with the support of Europeans. Medical education began in 1801 at the Royal and Military Hospital of Goa and is one of the Asia’s oldest medical colleges having the oldest medical libraries. The first printing press in India was started in Goa and published books in 1556.

Govt Jobs in Goa

There are six engineering colleges among them two colleges are government funded and remaining are private engineering colleges. In 2004, BITS Pilani inaugurated its second campus at Zuarinagar near Dabolim. There are two National Oceanographic Science centers NCAOR in Vasco da Gama and NIO in Dona Paula. There are many colleges offering architecture, dentistry, pharmacy, law, arts, commerce and other subjects. The state government also recruits eligible candidates into government posts of various department through recruitment notifications. The important notifications are Goa Forest, Goa Police etc.  

Goa PSC Recruitment 2019 Notifications

Goa PSC is responsible for all the notifications related to the State government jobs. It was formed on 26th May 1988 with the purpose of recruiting employees across the government sector within the State of Goa. Shri Jose Manuel Noronha is the current chairman of the commission and Shri Dattaram Sardessai is the Secretary. Based on the requirement of human resource in different government departments, the Commission issues the recruitment notification. The commission releases all the information regarding recruitment’s, number of vacant posts, examinations, exam schedules, results etc.
