India Ranked 40 in World Economic Forum’s Global Travel & Tourism ranking
Recently World Economic Forum released Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report for the year 2017.
This report is prepared after analyzing tourism sector of 136 countries across the globe, and 14 dimensions are considered while preparing the report
They mostly considered how well a country is providing economic and societal benefits through travel and tourism sector.
In this report,India ranked 40.
When compared with last report India improved 14 places.
When compared with the Asian countries India gained 12, but it is still behind Japan and China which were at the4th and 13th place, respectively.
Implementation of some important policies, schemes, and measures such as e-visas, visa on arrival, improving ground transport infrastructure has given a boost to the travel and tourism sector.
The top ten countries in serial order are; first place Spain, second place France,then Germany, Japan, United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Italy (8th), Canada, and Switzerland (10th).
