Chhattisgarh Teachers Eligibility Test


Chattisgarh Teachers Eligibility Test (CGTET) is an eligibility test conducted by the government of Chattisgarh for filling in the teaching posts across the State. The exam is mandatory that qualifies one for a primary or upper primary teaching position at school level across the State. Other state TET exams that are popular are Bihar, Orissa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, etc. Regular notifications pertaining to the vacancies and exam dates are released by the government on need basis. Other important notifications released in the state are Chattisgarh EnggServicesChattisgarh Forest, Chattisgarh Police, Chattisgarh PSCA ll Posts, etc. In order to stay updated about the notifications, candidates are advised to visit ‘Drona’ on regular basis.


S.No. Posts Qualification
1. Primary Level (class I-V) Candidates MUST have qualified the Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 45% marks. Candidates who are taking final of a two year Diploma in Elementary Education/ four years Bachelor’s of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)/ two years Diploma in Education in Special Education are also eligible.


Candidates with B.A./B.Sc. with at least 50 percent Marks and B.Ed qualification can also apply.

2. Upper Primary Level (class VI-VIII) Candidates who have a valid degree in B.A./B.Sc./D.Ed with at least 45% marks or B.Ed with atleast 50% marks are eligible for this exam.


Candidates who belong to the reserved categories viz. SC/ST/OBC/Differently-abled will be given a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum educational qualification for eligibility.

Application Procedure

  • All the candidates need to apply online.
  • Download the Application Form from the official website.
  • Take a printout of the Application Form after successfully submitting it.

Selection Procedure

Chattisgarh TET Exam consists of two Papers viz. Paper-I & Paper-II. Both papers contain 150 Objective type questions respectively with 1 mark each. Total marks are 150 for each.

Chattisgarh TET Paper-I

Candidates who aspire for teaching positions from Class I to V in Chattisgarh Primary School.

Chattisgarh TET Paper-II

Candidates who aspire for teaching positions from Class VI to VIII in Chattisgarh Upper Primary School.

Candidates who aspire for teaching positions right from primary level to upper primary level i.e. from Class I to VIII MUST pass both the papers.
