Railway Recruitment Board Paramedical Services Recruitment

Introduction

In July 1942, a Railway Service Commission with one Chairman and two members was established for recruitment of eligible candidates as Staff for the then North West Railway. These Commissions were introduced in later years in other railway zones with main functions of recruiting eligible candidates for class III positions and to give advice to General Managers for dealing subordinate staff on disciplinary matters. In 1985 Railway Service Commissions were renamed as Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), and in the year 1998, all the RRBs came under the direct control of Railway Recruitment Control Board (RRCB), to streamline the working of RRBs. At present, there are 21 Railway Recruitment Boards in the country. Drona provides required information on RRBs form the exam point of view.
