United India Insurance Company is one of the largest company in General Insurance Segment. The company established during a pre-independence era in the year 1938, it was nationalized during the Indira Gandhi regime in the year 1972. UIIC was one of the subsidiaries of General Insurance Corporation of India. It was formed after merging the four Indian co-operative insurance societies, life insurance companies, and 12 Indian insurance companies. These were merged to form United Indian Insurance Company.
