Air Force Ground Duty Branch Jobs Recruitment

Introduction

Indian Airforce selects eligible candidates for the training in its ground duty branch. After completion of training, the candidates will be recruited as officers in the Ground Duty Branch. Drona provides extensive information on these central government job recruitment’s. The other important jobs that are recruited by IAF are pilots and engineers.  

Positions/Courses and Eligibility Criteria

  • For all the positions the age limit will be 20 to 26 years and the candidates with age below 25 years should be unmarried
  • Nationality – Indian

ADMINISTRATION BRANCH

  • Permanent Commission (for Men) or Short Service Commission (for both Men & Women)
  • Air Traffic Controller
  • Fighter Controller

Educational Qualifications

  • Any Graduation degree (with a minimum of three-year duration) from any recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

ACCOUNTS BRANCH

  • Permanent Commission (for Men) or Short Service Commission (for both Men & Women)

Educational Qualifications

  1. Com. degree (with a minimum of three-year duration) from any recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

LOGISTICS BRANCH

  • Permanent Commission (for Men) or Short Service Commission (for both Men & Women)

Educational Qualifications

Any Graduation degree (with a minimum of three-year duration) from any recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

EDUCATION BRANCH

  • Permanent Commission (for Men) or Short Service Commission (for both Men & Women)

Educational Qualifications

MA/M.Sc degree in English / Chemistry / Physics / Mathematics/ Statistics / Defense Studies / International Relations / International Studies /Psychology / Management / MBA / MCA / Computer Science / Journalism / Public Relations/IT / Mass Communication with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Post-Graduation (two years programme) and in Graduation 60% marks (both recognised by UGC / any Competent Accreditation Authority).

METEOROLOGY BRANCH

  • Permanent Commission (for Men) or Short Service Commission (for both Men & Women)

Educational Qualifications

Post-Graduation Degree in any science stream Computer Applications / Environmental Science / Mathematics / Geography / Applied Physics / Statistics / Oceanography / Geo-physics / Agricultural Meteorology / Environmental Biology/Ecology & Environment. All candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in all papers of Post-Graduation and must have studied Maths & Physics in Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks each subject.

How To Apply

Selection Procedure

  • STEP I
  • Candidates can enter the ground duty branch in three ways, which are given below
  • First step
  1. NDA and CDSE
  2. AFCAT – Air Force Common Admission Test.
  3. NCC entry
  • STEP 2 – SSB (Services Selection Board) TESTING
  • STEP 3 – Conduct of Medical Examinations
  • STEP 4 – Preparing All India Merit List

Examination Pattern

STEP 1

Candidates should qualify NDA or CDSE exam conducted by the UPSC or candidates have to qualify the Air Force Common Admission Test. This test will be conducted by the India air force across INDIA twice a year.

Candidates having Air Sqn NCC Senior Division ‘C’ certificate can also apply directly through DG NCC/ NCC Air Squadron for step 

STEP 2 – SSB (Services Selection Board) TESTING

This step consists of two stages

Stage I of the SSB test will be a screening test, and the candidates who qualify the test will be eligible to attend next stage of this step. This stage will be having

  • Officer Intelligence Rating Test
  • Picture Perception and Discussion Test
  1. Stage II Testing

This details of tests conducted during this stage are listed below.

  • Psychological Tests compiled by Psychologists.
  • Group Tests having interactive indoor and outdoor activities with a combination of mental and physical work.
  • Interview with an Interviewing Officer.

The details of these tests will be explained to the candidates before they are conducted.

The schedule for OLQ Tests is given in the below table.

Day 1 Phase I testing – Officers Intelligence Rating Test & Picture Perception and Discussion test
Day 2 CPSS followed by Psychological test
Day 3 Group Tests / Interview
Day 4 Group Tests / Interview
Day 5 Group Tests / Interview
Day 6 Group tests / Interview / Conference

STEP 3 – Conduct of Medical Examinations

Good grip on general knowledge is necessary to clear most of the steps in the recruitment process. After successfully qualifying step II candidates will be asked to attend a medical examination at Institute of Aviation Medicine, Bengaluru or Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME), New Delhi.

STEP 4 – All India Merit List

Based on the performance in all the above tests candidates will be selected and the joining instructions will be issued to join at one of the Training establishments to the candidates.
