Prime Minister’s Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) is designed to create and provide sustainable self-employment opportunities to one million educated unemployed youth in the country during the 8th Plan period. With financial aid, the scheme is designed to help set up micro level self-employment business in both urban and rural areas. Major credit-linked subsidy programme, aimed at generating self-employment opportunities through establishment of micro-enterprises in the non-farm sector by helping traditional.
Subsidy offered under this scheme is extended to 15% of the project cost which is further limited to Rs.12,500 per entrepreneur. The Scheme is designed to create and provide self-employment opportunities to one million educated unemployed youth in the country during the 8th Plan period. For the Jammu & Kashmir, North-Eastern Regions, Himachal Pradesh & Uttaranchal regions the limit is extended to Rs.15,000
The following persons can avail the benefits of this scheme
The candidates must be a permanent resident.
Every unemployed educated youth can apply for the PMRY scheme
The age limit to apply for the PMRY Yojana should be 18-35 years extended to 40 years for people under SC/ST category , ex-servicemen.
Must have passed 8th standard. The income of the family should be Rs.1 lakh per annum.

Cost Covered Under PMRY Scheme
For Business Sector the Project Cost will be Rs 2 Lakhs
For Service Sector the Project Cost will be Rs 5 Lakhs
For Industry Sector the Project Cost will be Rs 5 Lakhs
